Winter Wedding at Salem Golf Club | Madelyn + Matt

Madelyn and Matt’s beautiful winter wedding at Salem Golf Club happened to be one of the coldest weekends we had all winter, but you wouldn’t know it from the way these two shined in their portraits. I can’t believe they lasted in the cold for over a half hour!! Trish and I tried to be fast and Madelyn slipped her warm coat on and off in between locations but man, cold weather for photos really makes you efficient. I’m so in love with these images and I’m so grateful the sun was out for a few of them.

Family weddings that I photograph are always super special. I am always honored when someone close to me asks to capture their day. You won’t find a kinder, more thoughtful couple than these two. They are fun to be with, they live out what they believe, and effortlessly point others to Christ with their actions. And to make the day even more exciting, they asked Gwen and Nolan (two of my three kiddos) to be in the wedding!! Just wait til you see how cute they were (excuse my bias).

When Madelyn first asked me to be their photographer, we both took a gamble knowing I was pregnant and would be 37 weeks at their wedding. It was a risk but I knew they would be in good hands with Trish if I couldn’t make it. In God’s kindness, I was able to be there and had the energy to do it. I’m so glad I could and I know you’ll love these photos as much as I do.

I don’t often have January weddings but this one was a great one to end the winter with and before my maternity leave began. Congrats Mr and Mrs Werner. We are all so happy for you and blessed to know you!

Outdoor ceremony in June at Drake’s Landing

Jenna + Will’s wedding was my first one back since the shutdown in the Spring. It was before mandates and protocols and chaos. Jenna and Will decided to go ahead with their original June date with a small ceremony and dinner, then celebrate again next year with family and friends. I’m so glad they got married on this day in June. I remember it rained in the afternoon and we delayed the outdoor ceremony. This ended up making the clouds look awesome and we had some beautiful overcast images captured!

Jenna’s dress was probably my favorite from this year. She looked flawless and you could tell she was happy to be getting married. I also loved her cathedral veil!! It’s one thing I wish I would have considered when I got married!

Will is so warm and welcoming and I can see why Jenna loves him so much. He’s a sweet guy with a great family.

Thank you both for letting me be a part of your day!!

Bridal portraits at Sugar Pines Tree Farm in Chesterland Ohio

A final wedding blog from 2019, Hillary and Jon’s wonderful wedding was my only October wedding. Their day did not disappoint and every, single detail was awesome. Their bridal portraits at Sugar Pines Tree Farm were amazing and so unique!!! It was a last minute decision to go there and I cannot say enough great things about Sugar Pines. They are wonderful people with a beautiful farm. The bride and groom left plenty of time in between the ceremony and reception for me and my team to get creatively, unique photos that they will have forever.

Their reception was held at Fowler’s Mill Golf Course. It is one of my favorite venues, for many reasons, but a big one is the views. The color from the trees, the huge white barn, and where the sun sets are all just wonderful reasons to love Fowler’s.

A favorite part of Hillary and Jon’s day was when I was at her parent’s house with the girls getting ready. Her sister Courtney and BIL Nolan, have a cutie patootie daughter named Isla who was at the house. At one point, Hillary and her dad were trying to dress Isla, including trying to get tights on her haha! I’m so glad I was standing there to grab a few pics. Jumping up and down certainly helps baby tights go on easier right?? But what followed was a bit of spit up on dad’s jacket. Oops!

I can recall several more favorite moments from their wedding day including the ring/vow exchange during the ceremony, the bridal party intro at the reception (which includes a beverage shower), epic photo locations with vibrant fall colors in the background, and a recreation of an old photo of Hillary’s parents on the golf course during their own wedding. Sweet memories!

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Hart!!

Outdoor fall ceremony at On Target Outfitters in Canfield

Next up for an engagement season blog is Jessica and Jesse. Gorgeous people am I right?! I found myself tongue tied all day because they basically have the same name. Which is actually kind of cool!! It was a warm fall day but I loved everything about it. You cannot go wrong with an outdoor fall ceremony in Ohio!!

Their ceremony was uniquely surrounded by a small lake, with the sun spotlighting the trellis. It was beautiful. I have never done a ceremony at On Target and I hope I get to do another one! I loved the setting! Their archery targets set up inside were also a unique amenity to the venue ha! We even got a picture of the bride and groom posing with a dinosaur! Scroll to see 🙂

One detail I remember about Jessica and Jesse’s day was her bouquet. Her dad had grown the dahlias himself to include in her flowers. Her bouquet was massive but complete perfection!! I could have photographed that thing all day. And what a special gift to have her dad put time and effort into those flowers.

I had the hardest time narrowing down my favorites from this wedding. I know I delivered way more photos than I usually do but I couldn’t help it! I hope you enjoy the favorites I picked for the blog.

Summer Wedding at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-lake

This year was a slow year for blogging but I decided to save all of my pretty pictures for when all of the new engagements are happening. Hello December! I got engaged in December on a random Sunday so I can vouch and say it is an exciting time of year. It is hard to not be joyful when those around you are beginning a new chapter with planning a wedding and committing to marriage.

With that being said, first up is Rebecca and Todd. Their summer wedding at the lodge in Geneva was breathtaking. This is the second wedding I’ve done for this family (Megan and Blake) and it was so fun to see some familiar faces.

I grew up by the lake so of course I was thrilled with everything happening at Geneva Lodge. It is a gorgeous and unique spot in Ohio. Rebecca and Todd are joyful people, kept the day simple, and hosted an awesome party.
