Ah I’m so excited! I have been waiting for a sunny day to take a few snapshots of our baby’s nursery. This is the cleanest it will probably ever be and so I wanted to be sure to document it in it’s cuteness. Sometimes I just sit in there by myself (or with Reggie on my lap) and just pray and dream. Sometimes I don’t even realize how much time has passed. Now that January is finally here, I am beyond ready for baby to be here.

I had so much fun putting this nursery together. Even if I knew what I was having, I think I still would have done the nursery the same. There are parts of the nursery that remind me of my Grandma and it makes me miss her. I imagine her expression and words if she were still here to share in our excitement. You Are My Sunshine was always sung to me and my siblings and cousins. My grandpa gave me children’s books that were my dad’s originally but I remember Grandma reading them to us.

It seems like so long ago, but I was just in Kenya carrying this little one and I wanted little memories to remind me of that trip in the baby’s room. There are hints of Kenya here and there and I love all of it. The mobile…the hand-carved giraffes…the shuka blanket Kenyans wear to keep warm…it’s all wonderful. When I look back at that trip and what I learned, the fear I overcame, and my faith that grew in trusting God, I am just so thankful for God’s provision. He lead Scott and me here and we are faithfully (and humbly) ready for this new adventure. Eager to learn and eager to grow as individuals as well as a couple.

As I sit here typing, the baby is kicking and moving my macbook around making it difficult to type and edit. It blows my mind how strong babies are and how he/she is able to move my computer! Crazy! I’m also excited to see how Reggie reacts to the baby. Oh is she in for a surprise!
