10th Floor Treasures Etsy Shop | Youngstown Ohio Wedding Photographer

A few weeks ago I got to hang out with my best friend while taking pictures of her beautiful work! Megan is the sweetest and her shop 10th Floor Treasures is filled with unique, personalized, and meaningful jewelry with a message. Since she started, her shop has evolved and she continues to create new pieces to sell at shows and on her Etsy shop.

Most of my brides own a piece or two of Megan’s work. I send out gifts to my brides that book with me and I loved collaborating with Megan for that. I have gotten so many compliments from my brides about them!

Megan is a dear friend and we talk for hours every time we’re together. I am so excited for her as she continues to kill it with her shop online and locally. Speaking of local, she has inventory for sale at The Bookstore in Berea! Be sure to check her out if you’re in that area or shop on Etsy! Here are a few fav shots from the session! She will be sharing more on her Instagram page. Follow her now!

Alyssa + Ryan | Packard Music Hall | Youngstown Ohio Wedding Photographer

As I scrolled through my Instagram feed on Saturday night, it was obvious most of my fellow photogs were doing weddings in the rain on Saturday. Luckily, Alyssa + Ryan didn’t have to deal with a downpour! Our plan B to take pictures at Stambaugh Auditorium ended up working out great and I’m thankful for a bride with a plan!

What a beautiful wedding! The flowers oh my goodness! So gorgeous and lush! Packard Music Hall was a perfect place for a wedding reception. I loved how they had it set up and decorated. The live band made it even better! I was so impressed with Rudy & the Professionals.

I had a lot of fun with this bridal party and I especially loved that the guys appreciated my flying V reference. Everything went smoothly, we had a lot of time for pictures and Alyssa + Ryan had a great party.

Ashley + Josh | Daffodil Meadow | Youngstown Ohio Wedding Photographer

What a wonderful Saturday morning I spent with Ashley + Josh! We visited lots of places in Mill Creek Park including Daffodil Meadow. I can’t believe it took me this long to visit that part of the park! I was so excited when I saw the blooming trees! Best thing about April for sure!

I am so in love with Ashley’s ring shots! Tulips, fresh morning dew, and diamonds – the perfect combo!

Gwen is 3 months old!

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You’ll never know dear, how much I love you. So please don’t take my sunshine away!

3 months is a fun age and I have loved everything about it. In the last few weeks Gwen has gotten stronger and stronger, able to hold her head up on her own, and loves giving toothless kisses! Watching her wiggle her toes as she stares at her feet in the Bumbo is entertainment enough for me!

Giving her a bath is the highlight of my evening and she loves sitting with me as I drink my morning coffee.

It seems that she changes over night and I’m so thankful I’m able to be home and never miss a moment with her. I am busy enough with weddings and so far it’s a good balance for me. You all keep me going and my creative side is always full!

This photoshoot makes me look forward to her 6 month pictures! She’s growing WAY too fast!!!

Kelly + Dane | Butler Institute of American Art | The Hippodrome Warren, Ohio | Youngstown Ohio Wedding Photographer

I started off my 2016 wedding season with Kelly + Dane’s big day! Kelly already has the last name Wilson so lucky her that she didn’t have to worry about all that name change junk. That was such a pain and not an easy thing to do! Saturday’s weather was gorgeous to start out with and it gave me plenty of time to get beautiful images of Kelly + Dane. It started to get crummy out once the reception started which worked out perfectly!

Kelly’s grandma passed away recently and she honored her in such a special way! All of the Delft blue was a special reminder of her grandma and I just loved that! They had little knick knacks and details all around the reception and on each table. With losing my own grandma recently, I know this was very important to Kelly. This was a way for her grandmother to be a part of her day.

5 Tips For a Successful Engagement Shoot

Today I’m sharing 5 tips I think will help for a successful engagement shoot! I try to make sure you and your fiance are prepared before we meet up for this shoot. Engagement sessions are my absolute favorite and I love interacting with you as a couple! So, I hope these tips are helpful as you get started with wedding planning fun! To get more info about our wedding photography packages, click here!

5 Tips for a Successful Engagement Session:

1.) Be yourself. This is so important because this is how I as the photographer get to see how you and your fiance interact! I want to capture your chemistry and learn about you through spending an hour or two with you as a couple. This will help tremendously when your wedding day arrives. You’ll already know what to expect from me and you will already be used to the camera!

engaged_boardman_mill_creek_lindsey_yeagley_photo_0011
2.) Pick a location that is meaningful to you and your fiance. Maybe it’s somewhere you frequently spend time together or it’s where you met! I love it when couples come up with something creative and are excited about it!

3.) Plan two outfits. I usually suggest a casual outfit and a dressy outfit! Don’t be afraid to be bold, wear fun shoes and loud jewelry. Wear something you’re comfortable and confident in! Coordinate patterns together but don’t wear the same color as your fiance.

KalynDave-22
4.) Empty your pockets! I know this sounds silly but it’s true! The last thing you’ll want is a cute, romantic photo with your man’s phone shape in his back pocket! I willingly offer my camera bag to hold keys, phones, lip gloss etc just in case. 🙂

C+P-13
5.) Be on time. As a photographer who primarily relies on the sunlight for great photos, I need the sun haha! I pick a start time based on when the light is just where I want it. Even 15 mins can alter how the overall experience goes as well as how much light we have to work with. Just be sure to plan ahead, give yourself some buffer time and try to meet at the location promptly!
