If I could pick one word to describe Marisa + Luke as a couple it would be JOY. They are just one of those couples that just are joyous to be around and their happiness is contagious. This wedding was one of those weddings that seemed set above the rest. It was where you could tell they were honoring the Lord with the day and their marriage was just a public commitment to serve the Lord as one, together. Witnessing two families merge with Christ in the center – it’s what God intended. I was so honored to be there. Even though I don’t know Marisa + Luke that well, it seemed as though I fit right in and the day went wonderfully.
We did a first look so we’d have time to get all of the portraits in and I’m so glad we did! There was this gorgeous tree with wispy branches as well as a super cool tree on the side of a country road. I love it when a couple says, just drive ahead of us and find a spot you like. WOOT! Isn’t that what all photographers dream about? I look for spots all the time while I’m driving and wish I could stop at each one to photograph a bride and groom there.
Can we just talk about how I’m loving this off the shoulder trend?!?! Oh my gosh when I saw Marisa in her dress I about died inside!! The off the shoulder for the win!!!! Luke’s reaction when he saw her was priceless! I’m so glad they got to spend the day together before the chaos began. It was so nice to get relaxed pictures of them as well as the bridal party. It was a lot of fun. We did some near the church and then we did most of them at the barn at Firestone Farms.
There were a lot of great moments during this beautiful wedding and I really enjoyed putting this gallery together. One of my favorite details was the henna that Marisa got on her leg. She spent about 8 months in India doing ministry and she wanted to include an Indian wedding tradition in her own wedding. I thought that was pretty cool and memorable. I know how different cultures and experience can influence you and just mark your heart forever. So a piece of me understood the sentiment.
Congrats Mr & Mrs Jarrett!! It was an honor to photograph you both!
It’s already the end of June and I feel like Spring came and went. What a quick but wonderful season it was! Today I’m sharing Madison + Eric’s gorgeous Spring wedding at Stambaugh Auditorium. Their wedding was breathtaking and the day could not have been more gorgeous. Stambaugh has all kinds of nooks and crannies to take great pictures. One of my favorite spots to get the bride by herself is right by the elevator. There is this enormous, decorative window that just makes her stand out so perfectly (as she should!). Madison’s dress had just the right amount of sparkle and if you look close, the tulle had this amazing sheen/sparkle to it. I looooved it.
Trish (my assistant) and I went to high school with Eric. He is still that goofy, handsome, life of the party but you could tell Madison was meant to be with him. He just lights up with her in the room and shows affection like no one’s watching. It’s always fun to see people you grew up with and how much life has changed. Makes the world small. The first session I did with them I had no idea who Madison’s boyfriend was. When they showed up for their pictures, Eric and I were like, “whahhhhtt??” I’ll never forget that. It’s just odd to run into Riverside grads in Youngstown haha!
Another few favs from this day: Eric’s niece is ADORABLE!!! I loved the carriage she came down the aisle in. The jumping pics are super fun and show this party’s personality fo sho! Eric’s Best Man speech was hilarious, hands down. Madison’s dad had some of the sweetest words for his daughter before their dance together. It was presh. Erin (Eric’s sister) and her husband did an awesome flip as their intro into the reception!! And Eric and his mom did the best Mother/Son dance EVER. I wish I had a video!
Enjoy this beautiful May wedding gallery!! Congrats Mr & Mrs Clayton!
Today I’m sharing a beautiful engagement session that was in the prime season of Fall. I have recently loved all of the Spring blooms and flowering trees but the Fall foliage is just as good 🙂
We went to the mill as well as down by Glacier Lake in Mill Creek. It’s just a perfect spot for wide shots with the water and trees. Megan’s green dress just made her eyes pop and I absolutely loved it! Also, how cute is their fur baby?!
It’s hard to believe that October will be here soon when these two get to tie the knot! Wedding season is here yay!!
Gah I love these two! They are seriously perfect for each other! We’ve known each other since middle school and it seems like yesterday that Trish and I were on the softball field together. I have some of the greatest memories from our summer rec league with Coach Miller. Trisha has helped me with a few weddings and she is a talented photographer herself! I am so excited for their wedding because I know she is just as excited about the photos as I am.
They drove down and met up with me at Vienna Tree Farm. And of course we had to get a few pics with their fur babies. So presh! The tree farm was exactly what I pictured that Trish + Jake would like. It was open, overgrown and clear. I love that green color of the Christmas trees. We then drove over to the Avalon Inn in Warren. There was one tree left with bright red leaves on it and I was super excited.
Trisha + Jake’s wedding is one I am most definitely looking forward to. Congrats, you two!
Yeah, I know. It’s March and my child was born in January. All moms of the world understand why I’m behind. I got the pictures taken when she turned one and then put off editing and blogging. It happens. Mostly these blogs aren’t for you. They’re for my safe keeping. To remember and reflect on in years to come. She changes so quickly that I don’t even remember what to write. I used a “My First Year” calendar and it was great and loved it. Now I keep notes in my written planner of new things Gwen is doing. Even silly things like raising her hands in the air when I say, “big girl!”
I have a terrible memory and it’s the thing I dislike most about myself. This is why I know Scott is the perfect person for me. He literally can remember what meal he had at a certain person’s wedding and who he sat next to and what he wore. It’s ridiculous. We were just talking about school when we were little and he remembers being sick a certain day and missing something fun at school he was looking forward to. Like in 3rd grade. I couldn’t even tell you who my best friend was in 3rd grade. I suppose that’s why I like taking pictures. I live for Timehop and reliving memories and thoughts and text messages.
Capturing Gwen’s first year was something I looked forward to before I even knew I was pregnant. She is such a joy and makes me laugh every single day. Being able to laugh every day, what a blessing. Even on the days where I feel like I haven’t talked to another adult in 14 hours and I’ve breathed the same stale air in my living room…I know that I can find joy in being home and laughing while my daughter does the next ridiculous thing. Two that come to mind right now… I have costume jewelry that I played with when I was little and Gwen figured out how to put necklaces on herself. So she walks around the house with 12 gaudy necklaces on haha! And the other…I bought shoes for her that squeak when she walks and she stands there leaning on the wall and stomps her feet to get them to make noise. It sounds like she’s stepping on a dog toy, hence why Reggie goes nuts when she walks around in those shoes.
I took these pictures of Gwen in the kitchen sink when she wasn’t feeling the greatest. I’m glad I did that because isn’t that life? I may have a nice camera and am able to capture special moments of Gwen, but I want to remember to snuggles and sleepless nights that happen due to sickness or whatever. Not just the picture perfect posed and planned photos. You can tell she is much more mellow than usual photos and I love it! I also did a cake smash in my living room so Gwen was lucky with two different cakes to eat! One at her party and one at home! She did the same exact thing for both. Sunk her fingers in and thought about what to do next…then once she tasted sugar there was no stopping her!
2016 changed my life forever and becoming a mother has been the greatest blessing. Although challenging, I wouldn’t change a thing. Also, since it is March…she is walking now! Enjoy my favorites from her 12 month pictures!
Whitney eisentrout - I don’t even know this lovely couple, but I almost got tears from looking at these gorgeous pictures!! Awesome job linds!! The colors are awesome!! Looked like a great couple/day/everything to get to capture!!
