Madelyn and Matt’s beautiful winter wedding at Salem Golf Club happened to be one of the coldest weekends we had all winter, but you wouldn’t know it from the way these two shined in their portraits. I can’t believe they lasted in the cold for over a half hour!! Trish and I tried to be fast and Madelyn slipped her warm coat on and off in between locations but man, cold weather for photos really makes you efficient. I’m so in love with these images and I’m so grateful the sun was out for a few of them.
Family weddings that I photograph are always super special. I am always honored when someone close to me asks to capture their day. You won’t find a kinder, more thoughtful couple than these two. They are fun to be with, they live out what they believe, and effortlessly point others to Christ with their actions. And to make the day even more exciting, they asked Gwen and Nolan (two of my three kiddos) to be in the wedding!! Just wait til you see how cute they were (excuse my bias).
When Madelyn first asked me to be their photographer, we both took a gamble knowing I was pregnant and would be 37 weeks at their wedding. It was a risk but I knew they would be in good hands with Trish if I couldn’t make it. In God’s kindness, I was able to be there and had the energy to do it. I’m so glad I could and I know you’ll love these photos as much as I do.
I don’t often have January weddings but this one was a great one to end the winter with and before my maternity leave began. Congrats Mr and Mrs Werner. We are all so happy for you and blessed to know you!
